About

Personal Profile: I started Splice in 2015 to help drive the transformation of the media industry in Asia. I believe we're seeing the unraveling of the mass media model into niche media startups and creators serving smaller but highly engaged communities. We're in a golden age of media. With my co-founder Rishad Patel, our mission at Splice is to support the growth and viability of these media startups across Asia by building a rich community around them. We report on their work, train them, or advise them as consultants. We also celebrate these heroes at our annual Splice Beta festival. I've been in media for almost three decades. I've worked in radio, TV, newswires, a magazine, and online. I started out on the production side as a journalist, and later had the privilege of running what was then Asia's biggest digital news operations at Yahoo. I love working with people and businesses to achieve their goals. I can see patterns and come up with different solutions to any given scenario, and I’m also good at solving problems and figuring out what went wrong. I like to help others and recognize their unique potential for improvement, and am inspired by the future and its possibilities. I'm a coach specializing in helping media professionals and media startup entrepreneurs work on the changes they want in themselves. I guide our clients through identifying the changes they desire personally and translating them into transformative steps for their business journey. In 2024, I'll work toward an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Wish me luck!
